ABOUT KELSEY

Kelsey Mulvey is a New York-born, San Francisco-based journalist with over a decade of experience in print and digital media. After spending her childhood devouring magazines and writing creative fiction stories, it was only fitting that Kelsey received a degree in Magazine Journalism from Boston University. During college, Kelsey was a National Contributing Writer and Fashion and Career Editor at Her Campus, and had her work syndicated by national publications such as US Today and The Huffington Post. Not only did she intern for top publications like Lucky, Time Out New York, and Marie Claire, but she also started her blog The Trendologist, where she attended and reviewed New York Fashion Week shows for brands like Tibi and Natori.

After college, Kelsey worked as a Fashion and Home Assistant at The Wall Street Journal, Off Duty, where she also contributed to the section’s Gears and Gadgets vertical. Later, Kelsey joined the Business Insider’s Reviews department, where she covered product roundups, personal reviews, and deals.

In 2017, Kelsey took the leap of faith to become a full-time freelancer and has specialized in lifestyle, home decor, and shopping content. Since then, Kelsey’s work has been featured in renowned publications like New York Magazine, Architectural Digest, ELLE Decor, and more. She has also appeared on several podcasts to share her thoughts on interior design, entrepreneurship, and candles. (Really.)

Kelsey is incredibly passionate about being your own boss and helping other self-starters. In addition to being an expert in Yellowbrick’s Media Writing Essentials online, she launched a newsletter called “Office Hours with Kelsey Mulvey,” where she writes about being your own boss.

Kelsey currently resides in San Francisco with her husband, Ben. In the off chance she’s not working, you can find Kelsey traveling the world, eating nachos, listening to true crime podcasts, or jamming out to a throwback Peloton ride.
